The events in Las Vegas that saw 59 people lose their lives in addition to hundreds of wounded in the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history has been on a continuous news loop. Las Vegas terrorist gunman Stephen Paddock, 64, has become the latest domestic terrorist to make national news. Words of sympathy and empathy have been to Vegas from across the country and donations have begun to pour in for the families affected by this act of terrorism. One high-profile celebrity donating to the families is the UFC’s, Dana White. White, in conjunction with the premier MMA organization, will donate $1M to the victims. The UFC headquarters, which is based in Las Vegas, went under a “full employee count” according to White.
The first thing when we got up this morning, everybody, personally, got it together and made sure anybody they know or love was OK. Then we came in here and made sure all of our employees are OK. Then you start thinking about this city, our hometown, and we felt we needed to do this. This is something we needed to do.
In addition to the $1M donation, the UFC will be dedicating their upcoming pay-per-view event, “UFC 216” to the city of Las Vegas.
